The Rocket Festival in Summary

September 21, 2013

What an incredible event! Two days of fun and launching (three if you count the evening launch on Friday), great weather, good people and a terrific turn-out! A huge thank you to everyone who helped set up, tear down, RSO, LCO, manage pads or otherwise lent a hand. The new Wilson launch system worked flawlessly – a terrific addition to our club’s capabilities! It would be impossible to hit every single highlight, but here’s a few: Craig’s tritetrahedron (I think that’s what he called it) had an amazing low-altitude flight; Joe Shrednowski’s newest creation is bigger and badder than all those he’s made before; Gary put his big black project up and really ripped open the skies; Christian had an incredible CATO; and of course the certification flights are always heart-stoppers, especially for those trying to certify. The comments I heard most often were “Terrific Event”, “Best Launch I’ve been to in a long time” and exclamations of that nature. Did we do good? You bet we did! See you all in October!
